The MAESTRIA Music Masterclass has arrived in Jamaica, ushering in a new era of opportunity for emerging music talents across the region. As an entity dedicated to nurturing excellence and creating platforms for the next generation of musical stars, Dancehall League is immensely proud to be part of this groundbreaking, industry-shifting initiative.

Conceptualized by LB Développement Outre-Mer and co-funded by Interreg Caraïbes and the European Union, this revolutionary program provides young Caribbean artists with the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to elevate their careers. With 18 participants—six from Guadeloupe, four from Jamaica, two from St. Martin, and six from Martinique—this year’s cohort is set to benefit from an intensive and transformative experience.

In partnership with the esteemed Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, the masterclass spans two weeks of rigorous training led by top-tier industry professionals. Participants engage in lectures and workshops with influential figures.

Additionally, Artist and Producer Dialogues with industry icons such as Notnice, Tessanne Chin, Alaine, and Joby Jay will provide invaluable insight into the world of professional music.

Initiatives like MAESTRIA are pivotal in shaping the future of Caribbean entertainment. By blending theoretical learning, hands-on experience, and cultural immersion, this program fosters not just artistic development but also long-lasting industry relationships.

“This initiative is about more than just skill-building—it’s about creating opportunities, developing sustainable careers, and strengthening the Caribbean music industry as a whole,” says Loïk Louisy-Louis, Director of LB Développement Outre-Mer.

At Dancehall League, our mission has always been to highlight and support emerging talents, providing them with the tools to thrive in a competitive industry. The MAESTRIA Music Masterclass aligns seamlessly with this vision, and we remain committed to championing excellence, innovation, and growth within the music scene.

As this masterclass unfolds, we eagerly anticipate the impact it will have on the careers of its participants and the wider Caribbean music landscape. The future is bright for these young artists, and Dancehall League is honored to be part of their journey.
