Reggae Icon: Luciano Set for Highly Anticipated US Comeback at Westchester Reggae Festival

Reggae Legend Luciano Set for Highly Anticipated US Comeback
Luciano - Dancehallleague.com | News

Luciano, also known as "Jah Messenger," is making a long-awaited return to the United States after nearly ten years. He'll be performing at the Westchester Reggae Festival in New York on September 2.

Luciano became popular in the 1990s with songs like "Lord Give me Strength," "The Messenger," and "Sweep Over my Soul."

However, Luciano faced problems with his US visa back in August 2016. This happened when he was leaving Canada to go to the United States. The trouble began when Canadian immigration officials searched his luggage. They found a "mixture" that Luciano said was "herb medicine for my throat." Unfortunately, tests showed that this mixture contained cannabis extracts, which the Canadian officials considered illegal. As a result, he lost his permission to work in the US. Despite this setback, Luciano continued performing in other countries.

At the Westchester Reggae Festival, Luciano will be sharing the spotlight with Third World and Derrick Barnett's Statement Band. He is excited about his return to the United States and is looking forward to his performance.
